The Selma News - March 17th, 2005
By Kelly Lake
GooRoo Computers and the GooRoo
Wireless, formerly of Pine Level, has moved to
Blackstone Plaza in Selma.
The business was started in July 2001 by owners Greg
Narron and Gary Langston as GooRoo Computers.
Narron is A+, Dell, IBM and HP certified and holds an
Associates degree in Electronics Engineering.
Langston is a Microsoft Certified Engineer with
Internet and is CCNA, CNE, A+ and Network certified.
The company came to Selma on Jan. 1 and Narron says
Jeff White, Selma Town Manager was instrumental in
finding a suitable place for the company to call
home.
"We outgrew the building in Pine Level," said Narron.
"Jeff White suggested we move to Selma and even told
us where an available space was."
GooRoo Computers is a Microsoft Certified Partner and
has grown its services to include wireless ISP,
enterprise networking, full computer service, repair
of computers, laptops and printers.
The company also offers printing and graphic design
services; server development, web hosting, and email
services.
"We build, install and service Linux and Unix Servers,"
said Narron. "We offer custom-built computers for
sale."
Since its inception, the business has grown to
include nine full-time employees.
Everitt Jones is the Chief Financial Officer, is
QuickBooks certified and holds a bachelor of science
degree in accounting. He also has had IT Training.
James Larsen is the company's software engineer, chief
web designer and programmer, and graphic designer.
Anthony Norris is the chief bench technician and holds
an associate degree in network administration and
support.
Glenn Allen is the company's Linux and Unix developer,
programmer, web designer and audio and video
engineer.
Alice Langston serves as receptionist and receiving
clerk. Lynne Mozingo is the office manager and keeps
the office running smoothly, according to Narron.
Within the last year, the company expanded to
include wireless service, which is high-speed
internet that comes to the home or business by way
of air instead of phone line or cable.
"It's the newest in technology and the fastest growing
internet service out there," said Larsen.
Also within the past year, the company has expanded to
include TekGuy @ GooRoo, located at Peddlers Village
at 40/42. It is operated by Bruce Johnston, network
and software administrator.
Narron says the company's goal is to provide quality
internet.
"We are the hometown internet provider for the Selma
area," said Narron. "Most of us grew up in the area
and know the people. Services have been added to
meet customer demand. We want to be the last person
you have to call to get whatever you need."
